You will only find a list of past events on this page. This will give you an idea of the type of speakers and presentations the Chamber has hosted.

We have an extensive network of contacts in our distribution email list.

Past Events: 2007

April 13th, 2007. Luncheon with special guest Colin Hansen, Minister of Economic development and responsible for 2010 Olympics.TC hotel, noon.

March 15th, 2007 Luncheon & presentation. Topic will be the BC Disability Games taking place in Powell River in July 2007. TC Hotel noon.

Feb 21st, 2007 Luncheon & Presentation with special guest Mr. Dennis Pavlich, Vice President of the University of BC.TC Hotel noon.

Feb 15th, 2007 Luncheon & presentation with your local Spirit of BC committee. TC Hotel noon.

Annual General Meeting & luncheon, January 25th 2007 noon, TC Hotel, Special invited guests MP Blair Wilson, MLA Nicholas Simons, Chief Walter Paul, Reg District Chair Colin Palmer & Mayor Stewart Alsgard will each have 5 minutes at the podium. 

January 18th, Luncheon & Presentation, join us at the Marine Inn at noon. The Powell River Child Youth & Family Services Society will present their campaign for awareness & prevention against Crystal Methamphetamine.  Businesses are impacted by drugs in various ways such as theft and job performance.

           2006                      Wednesday Dec 6th noon at TC Hotel, guest speaker is Alison Bledsoe Project coordinator for Understanding the Early Years with PR Youth, Child and Family Services.

Thursday September 13, 2006. TC Hotel. Luncheon to launch the United Way campaign. Please come out and show your support.

Wednesday September 7, 2006 Town Hall Meeting with MP Blair Wilson. Town Centre Hotel 7pm, no admission charge. Everyone Welcome.

Thursday June 15, noon at the Town Centre Hotel, School district #47 reps Troy Marshall and Jim Palm presenting the trade school oppertunities growing in Powell River.

Wednesday May 31st 7pm. Round table forum for all hair salon owners with School District #47 reps Troy Marshall & Jim Palm. Meeting to talk about the new Hairdressing training facility.

Thursday April 13, 2006  "Community Happenings" Luncheon at the Marine Inn.  Variety of speakers including....Tugboat Enterprises, Judy Wilson .... Volunteer Centre, Amy McPhee..... Sunday March 26, 2006. 2nd annual Tradeshow for Women in Business. Town Center Hotel noon to 4pm. This show is geared towards women of all walks of life, ages, lifestyles and varied interests. business to help us Presenting what's new in the business community, careers and investment opportunities, fashion, health & wellness and home & garden. Fitness demonstrations.  Quick meal demonstrations. No charge to the public to attend. Minimal booth charge.

Thursday March 22, 2006 Luncheon with Don & Stan at Town Centre Hotel. Don Allen, Economic Development Manager and Stan Westby, City Chief Executive Officer ; “Their Trip to Turin ".

Thursday February 16, 2006, Luncheon with guest speaker Mark McDonald from Business Vancouver Island newspaper. Message will be: Image IS Everything. Noon at TC Hotel. 

Thursday January 26 2006, Annual General Meeting. Election of board of directors takes place. Noon at the TC Hotel. Special guests will be Service Canada representatives. (Formerly HRDC)
